“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
Psalm 127:1

Welcome home our Beloved, to Be Loved.
Preliminary plans are underway to design and implement an approximately 20-room facility to accommodate both singles and couples, including the ability to care for individuals with dementia. Based on the “Green House” model of care, which prioritizes smaller home-like settings, it will help transform long term care from a “dreaded institution” to a place where Christians can truly feel at home. Plans will include a central living space with an open kitchen, dining and living area, a quiet room, family/multipurpose room, library, salon, garage, and accessible outdoor space and walking paths. Our mission is to ensure all aspects of the residents’ health are cared for and their social, spiritual, and personal needs also met, in a home-like Christian atmosphere. Plans will also include possibilities for future expansion as the need arises.
Define the purpose and vision of the long-term care home. Assess the need and financial viability. Identify potential locations and consider factors like accessibility, zoning regulations, and services. Create a charitable not-for-profit society with legal assistance.
Determine the target demographic and services to be provided. Create marketing materials, including brochures, a website, and social media presence. Estimate the project cost and create a financial plan, including funding sources and revenue projections. Begin to seek funding from lenders, donors, in-kind support, and government. Obtain necessary permits and licences.
Engage an architectural firm knowledgeable in healthcare design and long-term care facilities. Collaborate with architects, health care professionals, and the elderly to create a layout that accommodates resident needs, medical facilities, communal spaces, and administrative areas. Ensure compliance with local building codes, accessibility standards, and healthcare regulations.
Hire a construction company knowledgeable in healthcare construction. Develop a detailed construction schedule, including milestones and deadlines. Monitor the construction progress, ensuring adherence to plans, quality standards, safety regulations, infection control measures, and resident comfort. Procure necessary furniture, medical equipment, and technology infrastructure. Recruit a competent and compassionate team, including administrators, nurses, care providers, and support staff. Establish policies and procedures.
Conduct a grand opening event to introduce the long-term care home to the Reformed community. Admit residents and provide high-quality Christian care and services. Continuously evaluate and improve operations based on resident feedback, staff input, and regulatory requirements.
Building a long-term care home involves a complex and lengthy process and will require the time, talents and treasures of many individuals. We pray to the LORD for wisdom and direction, and acknowledge that without his will not a hair can fall from our heads. “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand” Proverbs 19:21.
Currently, we are awaiting our charitable status. Once this has been received, we will accept donations which will be used to purchase and develop land for a future site location that is yet to be determined. Additional funds will be diverted into the forthcoming building drive. Pledges will be gratefully received at this time. All donations will be tax deductible.
